Kauaʻi ʻōʻō —
Kauaʻi ʻōʻō is a technologically mediated collaborative performance piece composed by Adam Stearns and Amanda Nizich. The piece utilises an array of technologies both analogue and digital and questions the links between nature and technology. The Kauaʻi ʻōʻō bird became extinct in the 1980’s. Perhaps one of the species last mating calls, however, was captured by a bioacoustician - and hauntingly can be heard as the main sonic motiff throughout this piece.
